“There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.” Michelle Obama

At Artisanry Co., we’re passionate about helping women return to work after a time away, whether you took a break to raise a family, or care for an elderly parent. We’re dedicated to coaching women returners in the UK.

Our business coaching and mentoring is specifically tailored to the individual maker, with a special focus on empowering women makers. Especially those that are returning to work.

Do you feel alone as a women returner trying to re-enter the corporate world or rebuild your business? A recent report highlighted the following statistics for 2016;

  • In the UK, 550,000 professional women took an extended career break for caring reasons
  • Of these women, 420,000 want to return at some point
  • Two-thirds of these women returners will work below their potential upon return
  • The career break penalty could increase annual earnings by £1.1bn

At Artisanry Co., we’re dedicated to helping women returners re-enter the workforce with the confidence and skills that are needed to build success.

The role of the pandemic

The pandemic had had a staggering effect on women’s employment. According to Commons Library, women have been severely affected by the pandemic, in many cases more than men.

“According to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, by May 2020, mothers were 1.5 times more likely than fathers to have either lost their job or quit since March and were more likely to have been furloughed.

The Fawcett Society also found 35% of working mothers have lost work or hours due to a lack of childcare support during the pandemic.”

On the plus side, flexible working could be a positive outcome of the pandemic. It has also opened the door for many women to pursue a career with the flexibility of working from home and managing childcare and the home space less stressful. In some cases, this has also helped women transform their creative passion or hobby and into a profitable enterprise.

Overcoming the psychological barrier

The pandemic is just a single milestone that has caused many women to press pause on their careers or entrepreneurial ambitions.

There are certain psychological barriers, including confidence and motivation or clarity and focus, that can prevent women from re-entering the workforce. Or, maybe you want to change your career direction to suit your caring needs or family life but are struggling to find a starting point.

At Artisanry Co., we offer coaching and mentoring services that are tailored to your individual needs. We offer understanding and accountability to help overcome psychological barriers and map out your career or your business path.

We understand that no two clients are the same, and so we offer a free consultation to have a chat and discuss your specific needs before we start working with you. Our coaching and mentoring programme along with consulting are bespoke for women ‘returning to work’ and tailored to your needs.

Overcoming the practical barriers

Certain practical barriers can prevent very capable women from pursuing their business ideas with passion and fervour. For example, women returners may feel that they lack certain marketing skills and understanding to make their business a success.

Women returners are not alone.

We offer bespoke and interactive training sessions and workshops. Whether you need guidance with email marketing, a Canva masterclass or to learn the basics of SEO, we’re here to help.

Our skilled team offers monthly group workshops as well as engaging 1:1 sessions that are tailored to your specific needs.  We are dedicated to empowering women returners with the skills necessary to kickstart and maintain business success.

Flexible and bespoke

As a social enterprise, our passion and focus lie in empowering women to grow and prosper. This is achieved through networking, peer-to-peer learning, strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange, and more.

We understand that no two individuals are the same. Each journey is unique and presents its own obstacles and opportunities. We believe in the power of community and sharing knowledge, but we also understand the need for tailored and bespoke learning experiences.

Our coaching and training sessions are flexible and bespoke in nature. After a consultation, your individual needs are explored and supported through various training, coaching and mentoring.

These 1:1 sessions are incredibly powerful and can give women returners the ability to overcome both psychological and practical barriers.
