I am a self taught artist from Athens, Greece and have lived in Scotland since 2008. I have always been involved with various types of art forms, such as drawing, music etc. since my very first memories. It was about seven years ago though when I decided I want this to be my profession, as it comes naturally and makes sense. My work is about people and the way we interact and communicate with each other. Therefore my work is predominately portraiture, without been restricted to it, though. The most important factor of my work ethos is to get the picture done… the media, style and technique, even though very important, come secondary to me. They do go along with energy and atmosphere of the picture though. I work from memory, imagination and instinct, so my portraits/characters are always versions of both real and fictitious people. Therefore, I don’t necessarily need to have a sitter in front of me.
