The Red Samurai
Inspired by the rich Japanese heritage and by using the analogy of the ocean and the sun, the original abstract landscape painting “The Red Samurai” tells a story of samurai abolition.
In the face of the inevitable – the disappearing era of samurai – their strong spirit remains intact. It projects confidence and strength, a deep conviction in their beliefs.
The samurai spirit is represented by the red sun. At the same time, the sun is an allusion to eternity – something that is bigger than us. Ever moving ocean symbolises transformation and upcoming change, where the sun reflects stability and dedication. The sea is dynamic, and water is rising – it is about to take over the sun. However, there is also a sun reflection in the rising water that suggests unity and harmony.
You may see the reminiscence of sandy beach patches – careless and free – tranquillity of sandy bays. But as you look further, contrasting and bold black emerge.
Through the unique blend of colours and painting techniques, this original art piece creates a feeling of resistance and tension, yet softness and acceptance of the inevitable.
Please see lifestyle images for examples of how the painting looks in an interior.
