Peridot, spinel and sardonyx are the three birthstones for August. The peridot birthstone is known for being formed under extreme conditions, as it can be found in the hardened lava that carried it from deep within Earth’s mantle as well as in meteorites that traveled from outer space. The spinel birthstone was underappreciated until recently, as today’s consumers look for an alternative to ruby, a gem with which red spinel was mistaken for centuries.

I started out back in 2009 creating beaded jewellery – it’s a gateway…..

After people began asking for more personalised pieces of jewellery, I started to incorporate metal stamping techniques to add names, dates and varied textures to my work. I still often add a secret message on the back of a piece today!

After taking a short course in jewellery soldering at a local craft college I launched my sterling silver and gemstone range.

I now work from my small studio in rural Shropshire where I handcraft sterling silver, copper and gemstone jewellery and most importantly, according to him, feed Small Dog snacks!

The beautiful countryside surrounding my home studio is my constant inspiration, seen in my use of nature motifs and themes.

I do offer commission pieces if you’d like a certain gemstone or design incorporated into a piece.

Shipping Policy

Small Dog Silver uses Royal Mail Signed For as standard for shipping. Our current shipping costs are: First Class Signed For - Large Letter £4.00 First Class Signed For - Small Parcel £7.00 International Shipping is via Royal Mail and ranges from £15 upwards depending on the weight and size of the item. By placing an order through this Website you will be agreeing to the terms below. These are provided to ensure both parties are aware of and agree upon this arrangement to mutually protect and set expectations on our service. 1. General Subject to stock availability. We try to maintain accurate stock counts on our website but from time-to-time there may be a stock discrepancy and we will not be able to fulfil all your items at time of purchase. In this instance, we will fulfill the available products to you, and contact you about whether you would prefer to await restocking of the backordered item or if you would prefer for us to process a refund. 2. Shipping Costs Shipping costs are calculated during checkout based on weight, dimensions and destination of the items in the order. Payment for shipping will be collected with the purchase. Delivery Terms 4.1 Transit Time Domestically In general, domestic shipments are in transit for 2 - 7 days   4.2 Transit time Internationally Generally, orders shipped internationally are in transit for 4 - 22 days. This varies greatly depending on the courier you have selected. We are able to offer a more specific estimate when you are choosing your courier at checkout.   4.3 Dispatch Time Orders are usually dispatched within 5 business days of payment of order - for custom pieces please refer to the item listing. We generally operate on Monday - Friday during standard business hours, except on national holidays at which time we will be closed. In these instances, we take steps to ensure shipment delays will be kept to a minimum.   4.4 Change Of Delivery Address For orders via PayPal we are only able to ship to the registered PayPal address. This is to comply with the PayPal guarantee.   4.7 Items Out Of Stock If an item is out of stock, we will wait for the item to be available before dispatching your order. Existing items in the order will be reserved while we await this item.   4.8 Delivery Time Exceeded If delivery time has exceeded the forecasted time, please contact us so that we can conduct an investigation.   5. Tracking Notifications Upon dispatch, customers will receive a tracking link from which they will be able to follow the progress of their shipment based on the latest updates made available by the shipping provider.   6. Parcels Damaged In Transit If you find a parcel is damaged in-transit, if possible, please reject the parcel from the courier and get in touch with our customer service. Cancellations If you change your mind before you have received your order, we are able to accept cancellations at any time before the order has been dispatched. Refunds, Exchanges & Cancellations

We hope you will love your new Small Dog Silver jewellery. Every possible care will be taken to ensure that your jewellery arrives safely.

Changing your mind.

If you have changed your mind, then again please contact us within 14 calendar days to organise return and a refund or replacement. You will need to return your jewellery in perfect condition and in its original packaging.

Return postage costs will only be refunded if the item was faulty or the incorrect item was sent.

Damaged Items

If you have received a damaged item it is your responsibility to inform me within 14 days from receipt. This will include sending photographic evidence. If there is anything missing from your order you will need to notify me within 14 days of receipt. Once photographic evidence has been received and I determine that the item is damaged, I will issue a replacement. If this is not possible a refund will be given. We will be unable to provide refunds or replacements where damage has been caused by accident, neglect or misuse.

Personalised or Bespoke Items

Custom orders or commissions (i.e. those made to a requested size not generally listed on the website or with personalisation) may not be eligible for refund or exchange. Please contact us to discuss in the first instance. Personalised orders may not be returned except if damaged on arrival.

Rings

Rings can be returned, for either an exchange or refund. However, due to the nature of our made-to-order service, if an exchange is requested for a ring of more than 1 full size difference, a re-stocking/alteration charge of £25 will be applied for non-stone set rings, and £40 for stone set rings.

Earrings

We regret that we cannot offer refunds on earrings for health and safety reasons.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

We strongly recommend that you return your jewellery using tracked delivery, and want to emphasise that jewellery is only insured in transit when posted using Royal Mail’s Special Delivery service.
